A University of Idaho professor and department head has been hired as head of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Agricultural Economics and Director of NCDC.
Larry W. Van Tassell began the position of Department Head and Director August of 2010.
Van Tassell has been professor and head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the University of Idaho since 1999, He also has worked at the University of Wyoming, the University of Tennessee, Texas A & M and Brigham Young Universities.
Van Tassell received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young and his doctorate from Texas A & M. He is a member of the National Association of Agricultural Economics Administrators, the Society for Range Management and other organizations.
